WASHING THE PAWS
BY JILLIAN KARUZA

This is my last journal for my CBSL project. Today, Kelly Danoff and I are going to meet up with the 20 Cardinal Newman students who are volunteering at the animal shelter for Washing of the Feet. We are going to answer any unanswered questions or concerns.

Next Thursday we’re going to volunteer at the animal shelter for three hours with the extra 20 student volunteers. I’m very excited to start this Washing of the Feet project, it’s going to be a great ending to our CBSL. Since Kelly and I have been visiting the shelter every Wednesday day during school hours, we are able to see how often animals are adopted within a week. It’s such a great experience to see that the animals who were suffering from homelessness, had finally been adopted by a loving family.

When we go, we usually love and cuddle the animals, but last time Kelly and I made enrichment toys for the dogs. I just signed up to present my CBSL to a Newman class on May 18th. I am very sad to be finishing up my CBSL project because I really enjoyed researching and spending my time with the homeless animals of Sonoma County.
