I hate most blockbuster, big-budget, Hollywood movies, including this one. It makes me wonder why such a piece of trash would ever be called art. The fact that critics actually liked this film just gives me no hope for the future of cinema. Sequels themselves are what are converting film from being an original art form to a sinister, two-hour long, so called “film”. However, despite how much I hated the film, I found it more entertaining than the first installment of the series, Captain America: The First Avenger.

The film takes place directly after the finale of the first film. Captain America (Evans) is trying to get used to the modern world, which he was brought into in the previous film, after being frozen for about 70 years. S.H.I.E.L.D., the defense department that several superheroes and Captain America belong to is falling victim to corporate greed. Headed by the superhero, Nick Fury (Jackson) and run by the corrupted Alexander Pierce (Redford), a civil-war-like conflict that, of course is going to involve the destruction of the world, erupts. The film centers on Captain America saving the world again, just like every superhero movie. Of course, he falls in love with the attractive woman, who is also a superhero named Black Widow (Johansson). Blah… Blah…. Blah…. The End.

The movie itself is just a disaster. The story is my least concern. I would love to see this film if it was made by Christopher Nolan (Director of The Dark Knight series) because it would be made well. The dialogue is horrendous. The structure overall is depraved. The acting is sub-par. Even the CGI and special effects are unappealing and make no contribution to the film. The film is entertaining, however, in a sense that people will enjoy it. But that does not mean, it is a good film. If you want to see an articulate piece of Cinema, I by no means recommend you see this film.
