AN EVERLASTING UTOPIA
BY MELISSA GOAN

Awaiting mortal death I ponder.
Where my soul is yet to wander.
Were we born to live and die?
Or does God’s plan for us imply,
A greater world for us to find.

One place will always come to mind.
Differing from Hell’s fiery pit.
Nor is purgatory the perfect fit.
Not all of us were destined to perish,
Therefore heaven is a place to cherish.

Cherish, Cherish, Cherish life
Until your downfall by a knife.
Or other ways to end your days,
Your grave will catch the final rays.

Lifeless body in the night.
The soul is headed toward the light.
Angels and saints glowing in sight.
Where heaven is earth’s paradise.

Heaven, Hell, Purgatory
Which is our life’s ending story.
Why do we grasp for a breath?
Does it challenge our own death?
Heaven, Hell, Purgatory
Which is our life’s ending story.
Will you triumph in eternal glory?
Behold let the author finish the story.
