SELF INTERVIEW

By Tina Traboulsi

Q: Where did you get the nickname "Tina" when your name is "Hilda"?
A: My full name is Hilda Christiana Traboulsi. I go by the nickname of my middle name, "Christiana." I have been called Tina ever since I was a baby. My grandpa came up with the nickname.

Q: Has your grandfather been a great influence in your life?
A: Oh, yes. He was an electrical and mechanical engineer and I plan on pursuing a degree in either civil or electric engineering. We spent a lot of time together. When I'd visit my family in Canada, my grandpa and I would always hang out and watch movies together. He even moved in with my mom and me for a few years to help out my mother after my parents divorced when I was two.

Q: What was your favorite movie you and your grandpa watched together?
A:
I would have to say The Emperor's New Groove.

Q: What do you do for fun?
A:
Well, I really enjoy musicals, both watching and participating in them.

Q:What was your favorite role in a play?
A:
Hmmm. I would have to say the Two of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. I was in second grade at the time and it was my first play. I only had one line but it got lots of laughs every night. That was such a happy experience.

Q: What do you do to just unwind?
A:
I curl up on the couch with a cup of mint tea and watch Masterpiece Theater or a BBC miniseries. I find their accents to be quite fascinating, and very soothing. I occasionally also like to read in bed if I'm not too tired.

Q: What are your favorite subjects in school?
A:
I really like math, science, faith and drama. I would like to double major in either civil or electrical engineering and musical theater.

Q: Have you always lived in Santa Rosa?
A:
Yes. I was born and raised here. My parents however are immigrants from Lebanon. My mom actually first immigrated with her family to Canada, then got married and became American; thus granting me dual citizenship with Canada.

Q: Do you like to travel?
A:
I love traveling. I've visited England, France, Sicily, Mexico, New York, Hawaii, The Bahamas, and best of all Disneyland, the "happiest place on Earth."

Q: Have you ever considered moving to any of these places?
A:
Ever since I was two and a half, I have always wanted to live inside the Peter Pan ride at Disneyland.
